Gold Is Historically Undervalued - Longer Term Projections to $2700 Before the Year 2016
The charts indicate that relative to historic relationships gold is particularly undervalued right now. Gold has broken out of a 20 year bear market, and is just beginning the second leg of what may prove to be a historic rally.

Reuters/University of Michigan US Consumer Sentiment
US Consumer Sentiment Posts Lowest reading since 1980.
The Michigan Sentiment number and the SP 500 generally are correlated. There is a significant divergence here that will be resolved with either the SP 500 taking a dive within the next 30 days, or Consumer Sentiment doing a quick rebound starting with the next revision of the May 2008 number.
The last time it was this low the electorate was tossing out Jimmy Carter and bringing in the Reagan revolution.
Change is in the air.
