Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - This Great Masquerade of Evil - Hypocrisy and Madness

"Never again will we try to persuade a foolish person with reason, for it is senseless and dangerous.  In conversation with them, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with a person, but with slogans, catchwords and the like that have taken possession of them.  They are under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in their very being.’

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison

“I fooled myself.  I had to.  I didn't want to see it, because I would have then had to think about the consequences of seeing it, what followed from seeing it, what I must do to be decent.  I wanted my home and family, my job, my career, a place in the community.”

Milton Mayer, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans, 1933-45

"The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.

The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.”

Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism

"The foolish ask nothing better than not to have to understand anything, and they even used to get together and try not to understand, because the last thing of which a person is capable is to be malicious and foolish all by themselves.  Without understanding, they form spontaneously into herds, not according to any particular affinities but in obedience to the petty ideology, which swallowed up the whole of their small lives, allotted them by birth or chance.  They would far rather kill than have to think."

George Bernanos, Under the Sun of Satan

“This great masquerade of evil has played havoc with all our ethical concepts. For evil to appear disguised as light, compassion, historical necessity or even social justice is quite bewildering to anyone brought up on our traditional ethical concepts, while for the Christian who bases his life on the Word, it merely confirms the fundamental wickedness of evil.  Mere waiting and looking on is not Christian behavior.  Christians are called to compassion and to action. "

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Gold and silver were utterly hammered today, in honor of the usual rigging that occurs around the Non-Farm Payrolls report.

Even though I was in cash and waiting for it, the sheer brazenness of the running of the stop loss orders was amazing.

But we live in exceptionally brazen times.

Stocks ignored everything else and rallied to new highs.

There is an exceptional amount of hysteria and foolishness in public discourse today.

Look deeply into your own hearts.

Disengage from the sites that keep reinforcing the lawlessness and hysteria which may have overtaken your hearts with brazen and incendiary lies.  Or not.

I wonder about weapons and restraints, like zip ties, that some of the protesters were said to be carrying as they attempted to breach the House, with 80 hostage-ready Congressmen sheltering therein.  That could have been quite a spectacle.

Change is coming.   I am not optimistic for areas of deep concern to me such as financial and political campaign funding reform.

And yet, through it all, there is always His loving kindness and tender mercies, like shafts of light in a dark and cloudy day.

By their fruits you will know them.

Little children, beware the love and service of idols.

Have a pleasant weekend.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Choices and Consequences - Non-Farm Payrolls Report Tomorrow

"Faustus, who embraced evil and shunned righteousness, became the foremost symbol of the misuse of free will, that sublime gift from God with its inherent opportunity to choose virtue and reject iniquity.  Faustus had advanced beyond the level of a scarlet sinner — he was a conscious follower of the Prince of Darkness.  The fact he could publicly project an Antichrist image with pride, having no fear of reprisal, and his seeming diabolical art of escaping all punishment when others who were considered heretics had burned at the stake for less, would certainly signal that an unnatural individual walked in their midst.

It is true in many respects he assumed the role of the charlatan, yet how apropos, considering his willingness to follow the Father of Lies and deception.

A life of good or evil, the hope of Heaven or the despair of Hell, Faustus stands as a reminder that the choice between these two absolutes also falls to us.

The lofty mind of man can be imprisoned by the artifices of its own making.   If there are damned souls in Hell, it is because men blind themselves.”

E.A. Bucchianeri, Faust: My Soul Be Damned for the World

"God is going to invade, all right: but what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream and something else — something it never entered your head to conceive — comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left?

For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up.

That will not be the time for choosing: it will be the time when we discover which side we really have chosen, whether we realised it before or not.  Now, today, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side.  God is holding back to give us that chance.  It will not last for ever.  We must take it or leave it."

 C. S. Lewis, 1944

"And because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of most will grow cold. But those who stand firm to the end, will be saved."

 Matthew 24:12

It was 'rally mode' in a big way today.

Stocks reached new highs.

The dollar rebounded.

Gold was off a bit while silver rallied a little higher.

Tomorrow will be the Non-Farm Payrolls report for December.

As you may recall the ADP Report showed an unexpected loss earlier this week.

Believe lies and in many cases outright nonsense if you will, if you feel you must, and serve the madness.

You can certainly have no illusions about it now.  This is your choice, your Faustian bargain.

Just know what thing it is that you have chosen to serve, and allow to dwell in your hearts.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Are You Not Entertained? - Epiphany

"The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.”

Hannah Arendt

"I urge you, brothers and sisters, to be wary of those who cause divisions and undermine the faithful, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned.   Shun them.  For such people do not serve our Lord, but their own appetites.  And by clever words and flattery they deceive the hearts of the innocent and naive."

 Romans 16:17-18

“The downward spiral of dumbness in America is about to hit a new low.”

Hunter S. Thompson

And so it has.

Financial stocks led the rally today, as stocks overcame their initial declines and managed to tick up to new highs, at least in non-tech land.

Gold and silver were mugged.

But it does seem as though they are still forming some very bullish chart formations.

On many fronts, change is coming.

Let's see what happens.

By your actions you will be judged, and you will be able to know the character and intents of others.

Be accountable and aware of your own actions and obligations, and be aware of what you put into your minds, and pass along to your family and friends.

A great culpability lies on the heads of those who have abetted and promoted this delusion and madness in their pursuit of money and power.

They have no shame, and no truth or love in them.

Shun them, not so much to punish them, but to preserve yourselves.

Have a pleasant evening.
