Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Theatre of the Absurd - Stock Option Expiration on Friday

“The dead will lie on open fields,
like sheaves behind the reaper,
with no one to gather them.
So let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the wealthy boast of their riches,
but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have sought the understanding of my ways."

Jeremiah 9:22-24

"Beauty is but a flower
Which wrinkles will devour;
Brightness falls from the air;
Queens have died young and fair;
Dust hath closed Helen’s eye.
I am sick, I must die.
Lord, have mercy on us."

Thomas Nashe, A Litany In Time of Plague

Gold had a very strong showing today.

The underlying fundamentals and technicals are quite bullish.

The major obstacle seems to be the existing status quo in certain portions of the power structure and the financial system.

It is fragile with abuse and corruption, and so has to adjust to change slowly and carefully.

Stocks were weak, as people begin to realize that the end to this pandemic will not be like the flipping of a light switch.

We love our lies.  We must.

We treasure them, and pass them around to our friends and family.

For a long time the truth has been led down a blind alley and strangled.

But now we look on in sick fascination and horror, as it is done openly.

And because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of most will grow cold.

As a reminder there will be a stock option expiration on Friday.

Have a pleasant evening.

Saturday Afternoon - Blind Pride, Silent Providence

"Something strange is happening.  There is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and a stillness.  The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep.  The earth trembled and is still because God has fallen asleep in the flesh.  And He has raised up all who have fallen asleep ever since the world began.  God has died in the flesh, and Hell trembles with fear."

Epiphanius, Bishop of Cyprus, Holy Saturday: The Lord Descends Into Hades, 403 AD

"Wonderful providence indeed which is so silent, yet so efficacious, so constant, so unerring.  This is what baffles the power of Satan.  He cannot discern the Hand of God in what goes on; and though he would fain meet it and encounter it, in his mad and blasphemous rebellion against heaven, he cannot find it."

John Henry Newman

And after all his endless schemes, to crush and betray and kill the Son of Man, when did the angel of darkness finally realize that in his schemes, that awful death upon that hill, he had achieved no victory but his own defeat, in the redemption of the world.   And a great light and life had come at last to a fallen race, who had walked so long in blindness, in a darkened land.

What was his agony in understanding, this is our joy.  And the angel was fallen, blinded by his pride, again.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Maundy Thursday

Mandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos ut et vos diligatis invicem. in hoc cognoscent omnes quia mei discipuli estis si dilectionem habueritis ad invicem.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34–35

"Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, 'Teacher, first we wish to see a sign from you.'   But he answered, 'An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign. But no sign will be given to it, except for the sign of the prophet Jonah.'"

Matthew 12:38-39

"The Son of Man proceeds as it is written of him. But woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would have been better for that man if he had never been born.”

Matthew 26:24

"The word of God is a living thing, and works among us. It is sharper than a double-edged sword, and penetrates even to the dividing of soul and spirit, the joints and the marrow; it judges the innermost thoughts and inclinations of every heart. Nothing in all of creation is hidden from the sight of the Lord. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we will some day give an account."

Hebrews 4:12-13

“Not everyone who calls out, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will be saved, but only the those who have done the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name, drove out demons in your name, and performed many great projects in your name.’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I do not know you. Begone, you lovers of lawlessness.’”

Matthew 7:21-23

This seems fairly simple and straightforward.

We may not seen signs and wonders as we wish, or expect, or even demand of him.

But still the matter proceeds.

What more will it take?

Who is it now that you serve?

Do you really wish to stand with that one in judgement?

Have a pleasant weekend.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Get Your Kicks on Route 666

"Do you think he is so unskillful in his craft, as to ask you openly and plainly to join him in his warfare against the truth?  No;  he offers you baits to tempt you.  He promises you civil liberty; he promises you equality; he promises you trade and wealth; he promises you a remission of taxes; he promises you reform.

This is the way in which he conceals from you the kind of work to which he is putting you; he tempts you to rail against your rulers and superiors; he does so himself, and induces you to imitate him; or he promises you illumination, he offers you knowledge, science, philosophy, enlargement of mind. He scoffs at times gone by; he scoffs at every institution which reveres them.

He prompts you what to say, and then listens to you, and praises you, and encourages you. He bids you mount aloft. He shows you how to become as gods. Then he laughs and jokes with you, and gets intimate with you; he takes your hand, and gets his fingers between yours, and grasps them, and then you are his."

John Henry Newman

"Christianity is called the religion of pity. Pity stands opposed to the powerful emotions which heighten our vitality; it has a depressing effect. We are deprived of strength when we feel pity.

What is good? All that heightens the feeling of power in a man, the will to power, power itself. What is bad? All that is born of weakness. What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome."

Friedrich Nietzsche, The Antichrist

Stocks were in rally mode today.

Bernie Sanders dropped out of the Democratic primary race, removing the last bid at serious financial reform from the table.

And Wall Street has become tired of the pandemic, and is moving on to its plans for the resurgence of economic activity.

Gold and silver moved a bit but ended up mostly sideways. The dollar was up a bit. So was the death count.

Trumpolini has been knocking off independent oversight within the ranks, laying the groundwork for some serious shenanigans with their new found trillions of recovery money.

What could go wrong with such a single-minded will to power behind it?

Have a pleasant evening.
