Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Though the Heavens May Fall - Stock Option Expiration on Friday

"Decency, security and liberty alike demand that government officials shall be subjected to the same rules of conduct that are commands to the citizen.  In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously.

Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher.  For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example.  Crime is contagious.  If the Government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

Louis Brandeis, dissenting, Olmstead v. United States

“There are two ways to be fooled.  One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”

Søren Kierkegaard

"When a man takes an oath, he is holding his own self in his own hands, like water.  And if he opens his fingers then, he need not hope to find himself again."

Thomas More

President Trump was impeached this evening, with ten Republican votes in favor.

It will be interesting to see what evidence and facts are brought out in the investigation and trial in the Senate.

Stocks rallied today.

The Dollar moved back to the 90 handle mid-range.

The miners and metals were hit again.

There will be a stock market option expiration on Friday.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Metals Bounce - Stock Option Expiration on Friday

"And because of the increase in lawlessness the love of most will grow cold."
"Many will become addicted to hateful and malicious thoughts and harsh and hateful words. Slaves to their desires, they will be ferocious, angry and despising what is good and righteous.  With brutal treachery they act without restraint, bigoted and blinded by the delusions of their pride. They demand and find delight in the things of this world, and ignore their need to serve God first. They may act religious, but they want only to serve their own passions."

2 Timothy 3:1-5

"Is this a sign that the Germans are so brutalized in the simplest human feelings, that no chord within them cries out at the sight of such deeds, and that they have sunk into a fatal lack of conscience from which they may never, ever awake?"

The White Rose, Second Leaflet, Munich 1942

"If you have not chosen the kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead.”

William Law

Stocks were trading weakly today, with the storied big cap techs showing the most fatigue.

The small caps in the Russell 2000 have been outperforming.

Gold and silver were in a back and forth shoving match most of the day, but finally went out near the highs.

The Dollar gave up its recent gains but managed to hold on the 90 handle by its fingernails.

There will be a stock option expiration on Friday.

Let's see how the rest of the week goes.   Many of the charts are at key pivot points.

It is said that privately Mitch McConnell believes that Trump should be impeachedEt tu, Turtleman?

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - In the Garden of the Exceptional - Stock Option Expiration on Friday

"In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future.  We are ripping the foundations of justice from beneath future generations.”

Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn

“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”

Voltaire

"Hatred can be nurtured anywhere, idealism can be perverted into sadism anywhere.  The inferno could erupt anew anywhere.  The history of man is the history of crimes, and history can repeat.  So information is a defense.  Through this we can build, we must build, a defense against repetition.”

Simon Wiesenthal

"Take a stand for that which is right, and the world may misunderstand you, and criticize you, but you never go alone.  Walk with him this morning, and believe in Him, and do what is right, and he'll be with you even until the consummation of the ages.  I will not bow, and God grant that we will never bow, before the gods of evil."

Martin Luther King, But If Not, 5 November 1967

Stocks were giving it up today, led lower by the big cap tech stocks.

Gold and silver finished a bit higher from the Friday close, although they had opened this morning even higher. Silver did take back and hold the 25 handle.

I remain somewhat optimistic about silver, moreso gold.

But let's see how this plays.

The miners were hit again. I suspect we are seeing a 'technical trade' for the benefit of those specs holding leveraged and options positions.

It's funny, but when the metals are in turmoil, the site receives a number of infrequent or largely absent visitors coming back to see what is going on.

And often they are upset at the efforts made here to discharge my conscience, especially with regard to warning my brothers and sisters about contemporary events.

We are upset because you don't like Trump.   You are not nice to the Bankers.  Gold and silver are not manipulated.  You talk too much about God.  Don't talk about Covid 19.  Don't say negative things about MMT or Bitcoin.   yada yada

And what really upsets them is that they cannot threaten financial consequences because there are no subscription fees, and no monetary benefit from any traffic, tips, or donations.

If Le Cafe is not to your tastes, don't visit here.  This is the internet, and there are all too many places where you can hear support for whatever fetish of untruths and range of legitimate interests in which you may wish to believe.

Together we have seen all of this coming for some time now, and have warned about it, step by step.  It is the madness that serves none but itself.    It is the nest of the unspeakable.

And we will not be silent.

Men do go mad in herds, but come back to their senses but one at a time.   And it is for those that we try to lift up a light, as badly and as weakly shining as it may seem, in comparison to the growing darkness.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - This Great Masquerade of Evil - Hypocrisy and Madness

"Never again will we try to persuade a foolish person with reason, for it is senseless and dangerous.  In conversation with them, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with a person, but with slogans, catchwords and the like that have taken possession of them.  They are under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in their very being.’

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison

“I fooled myself.  I had to.  I didn't want to see it, because I would have then had to think about the consequences of seeing it, what followed from seeing it, what I must do to be decent.  I wanted my home and family, my job, my career, a place in the community.”

Milton Mayer, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans, 1933-45

"The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.

The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.”

Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism

"The foolish ask nothing better than not to have to understand anything, and they even used to get together and try not to understand, because the last thing of which a person is capable is to be malicious and foolish all by themselves.  Without understanding, they form spontaneously into herds, not according to any particular affinities but in obedience to the petty ideology, which swallowed up the whole of their small lives, allotted them by birth or chance.  They would far rather kill than have to think."

George Bernanos, Under the Sun of Satan

“This great masquerade of evil has played havoc with all our ethical concepts. For evil to appear disguised as light, compassion, historical necessity or even social justice is quite bewildering to anyone brought up on our traditional ethical concepts, while for the Christian who bases his life on the Word, it merely confirms the fundamental wickedness of evil.  Mere waiting and looking on is not Christian behavior.  Christians are called to compassion and to action. "

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Gold and silver were utterly hammered today, in honor of the usual rigging that occurs around the Non-Farm Payrolls report.

Even though I was in cash and waiting for it, the sheer brazenness of the running of the stop loss orders was amazing.

But we live in exceptionally brazen times.

Stocks ignored everything else and rallied to new highs.

There is an exceptional amount of hysteria and foolishness in public discourse today.

Look deeply into your own hearts.

Disengage from the sites that keep reinforcing the lawlessness and hysteria which may have overtaken your hearts with brazen and incendiary lies.  Or not.

I wonder about weapons and restraints, like zip ties, that some of the protesters were said to be carrying as they attempted to breach the House, with 80 hostage-ready Congressmen sheltering therein.  That could have been quite a spectacle.

Change is coming.   I am not optimistic for areas of deep concern to me such as financial and political campaign funding reform.

And yet, through it all, there is always His loving kindness and tender mercies, like shafts of light in a dark and cloudy day.

By their fruits you will know them.

Little children, beware the love and service of idols.

Have a pleasant weekend.
