Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Hi-Yo Silver, Away! - Exsultate Jubilate

"As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.   Remain in my love.  If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.  These things I have spoken to you so that my joy may remain in you, and so that you may be joyful.

This is my commandment: that you love one another, as I have loved you.v Greater love than this has no man, than to offer his life for his friends."

John 15:9-11

"Shout for joy, O you blessed souls.
singing sweet songs responding to your song
let the air sing with me.
The friendly day shines forth,
   both clouds and storms have fled now;
for the righteous there has arisen an unexpected calm.
Dark night had reigned everywhere;
Now, arise, happy at last, you who had feared before,
and be joyful for this fortunate break of day.
You, crown of virgins grant us peace.
You comfort the feelings from which the heart sighs.
Hallelujah"

Composed W. A. Mozart, Exsultate Jubilate, 1773

"Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise.  For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all.

In His hands are the deep places of the earth, the heights and strength of the hills.  The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.  Come, let us worship respectfully, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.  For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.

Now, if you will but hear His voice."

Psalm 95

Stocks were trading weakly most of the day.

They managed to take a little of their losses back in the closing afternoon trade.

But they were still chalking up some notable declines.

The fantasy of many rate cuts this year seems to be on the wane.

Gold and silver just rallied hard, with gold moving within reach of $2300.

But silver just ripped higher, and stuck a firm close on the $26 handle.

They were taking the silver bears out of the trading pits on stretchers.

We have a Non-Farm Payrolls report coming this Friday.

It has the potential to move markets.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - The Deathly Grip of The Unspeakable

"It is so important to understand that one of the primary means of immobilizing the American people politically today is to hold them in a state of confusion in which anything can be believed but nothing can be known, nothing of significance that is.  And the American people are more than willing to be held in this state because to know the truth - as opposed to only believe the truth - is to face an awful terror and to be no longer able to evade responsibility."

E. Martin Schotz, History Will Not Absolve Us, 1996

The Unspeakable is a term Thomas Merton coined at the heart of the sixties after JFK’s assassination.  What is unrecognized about JFK's presidency, which then makes his assassination a false mystery, is that he was locked in a struggle with his national security state.  That state had higher values than obedience to the orders of a president who wanted peace.  It’s unbelievable—or we’re supposed to think it is—that a president was murdered by our own government agencies because he was seeking a more stable peace than relying on nuclear weapons.  It’s unspeakable.  For the sake of a nation that must always be preparing for war, that story must not be told.  If it were, we might learn that peace is possible without making war."

James W. Douglass, JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters, 2008

"No one screams against this hell.   No one protests.   And if they abhor what they see, they do not have the courage to damn the damned.   One alone would not have failed us.   Péguy would have spoken, I hope, he would have let loose his scream.  He is not here, and there is no one else."

André Suarès, 1939

"He who does not shout the truth when he knows it makes himself the accomplice of liars and frauds."

Charles Péguy

“'Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters, with whom the rulers of the world have committed sin.'   The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, adorned with riches, holding in her hand a golden cup full of idolatry and the impurities of her lawlessness; and on her forehead was written a name of mystery: 'Babylon the great, mother of harlots and of earth’s abominations.'"

Revelation 17:1-6

"On this morning, if I can leave anything with you, let me urge you to be sure that you have a strong boat of faith.  The winds are going to blow.  The storms of disappointment, the agonies and the anguishes of life are coming.  And be sure that your boat is strong, and also be very sure that you have an anchor.  And be very sure that your anchor holds.  It will be dark sometimes, and it will be dismal and trying, and tribulations will come.  But if you have faith in the God that I’m talking about this morning, it doesn’t matter.  For you can stand up amid the storms."

Martin Luther King, Unfulfilled Dreams, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, 3 March 1968

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness in this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Ephesians 6:12

Stocks were wobbly today, but some late afternoon action took big tech back up to unchanged.

For the rest of the equity market, not so much.

Gold and silver futures soared overnight,  but as is customary they were knocked down in the paper trade of New York.

No surprise there.

It's been a long time coming, it will be a long time gone.

VIX remains subdued.

The Dollar rallied.

The world is staggering towards a vicious and wider war, whether you realize it or not.

The provocations are increasingly obvious, and the cover stories are embarrassingly thin.

I fear that the attack on the Crocus concert, and the recent strike on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, with the heavy-handed murdering of civilians in Gaza, mark a serious turning point.

Only madmen and monsters think that they will profit from this.

The madness serves none but itself.

Have a pleasant evening.

Easter Sunday

"Let us feel what we really are- sinners attempting great things. Let us simply obey God’s will, whatever may come. He can turn all things to our eternal good. Easter day is preceded by the forty days of Lent, to show us that they only who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Contemplate then yourself, not as yourself, but as you are in the Eternal God. Fall down in astonishment at the glories which are around you and in you, poured to and fro in such a wonderful way that you are dissolved into the Kingdom of God.

The more we do, the more shall we trust in Christ; and that surely is no morose doctrine, that leads us to soothe our selfish restlessness, and forget our fears, in the vision of the Incarnate Son of God.”

John Henry Newman

So let us pray for a serene vision of things as they really are, and that strength, which is called the virtue of fortitude, to never give in to the allure of falsehood and the emptiness of despair. The tomb is empty, and death is overthrown, and we are the heirs to eternal life.

We are the Easter people, and hallelujah is our song.

Truly, He is Risen.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - A Darkness Falls Over the Earth

"Tenebrae means 'shadows' or 'darkness' in Latin.  The service shows the darkness that comes over the earth upon Christ’s death.  One of the chants of the service draws from Scripture that tenebrae factae sunt — 'darkness fell'.  Those attending a Tenebrae service for the first time this Holy Week may be startled by entering a church shrouded in darkness except for the light of a few candles, the gradual extinguishing of those candles, and the loud banging noise called the 'strepitus' that builds and echoes in the darkness at the service’s conclusion."

“If we go as far as we can into the darkness, regardless of the consequences, I believe a midnight truth will free us from our bondage to violence and bring us to the light of peace.”

James W. Douglass, JFK and the Unspeakable

"God’s light has come into the world, but people love the darkness more than the light when their actions are evil. For those who do evil hate the light and refuse to come into it for fear that their lawlessness will be revealed. But those who live in the truth come into the light, so that it can be seen that they are doing God's will."

John 3:19-21

"There was the persecution of men who dared think differently, who heard strange voices or read strange manuscripts. There was enslavement of men whose tribes came not from Rome, disdain for those who did not have the familiar visage. And most of all, there was everywhere a contempt for human life. What, to the strong, was one man more or less in a crowded world?

Then, of a sudden, there was a light in the world, and a man from Galilee saying, Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's. And the voice from Galilee, which would defy Caesar, offered a new Kingdom in which each man could walk upright and bow to none but his God.

Then might it come to pass that darkness would settle again over the lands and there would be a burning of books and men would think only of what they should eat and what they should wear, and would give heed only to new Caesars and to false prophets. Then might it come to pass that men would not look upward to see even a winter's star in the East, and once more, there would be no light at all in the darkness."

Vermont C. Royster, In Hoc Anno Domini, December 24, 1949

“They are hypocrites— they think the Church is a cage to keep God in, so he will stay locked up there and not go wandering about the earth during the week, poking his nose into their business, and looking in the depths and darkness and doubleness of their hearts, and their lack of true charity; and they believed they need only be bothered about him on Sundays when they have their best clothes on and their faces straight, and their hands washed and their gloves on, and their stories all prepared.”

Margaret Atwood, Alias Grace

"What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

John 1:3-5

And so we have the end of the first quarter.

Stocks are at record highs, although they went out weakly and without conviction.

Gold had a sharp rally higher today, as did silver.

The Dollar rallied.

Do not expect gold to break free of its long term manipulation by the Western Banks overnight.

It will happen in stages.  But as we have seen time and again, the power of the Central banks is at the disposal of the financial system, and vice versa.

"We looked into the abyss if the gold price rose further.  A further rise would have taken down one or several trading houses, which might have taken down all the rest in their wake. Therefore at any price, at any cost, the central banks had to quell the gold price, manage it.   It was very difficult to get the gold price under control but we have now succeeded.  The US Fed was very active in getting the gold price down.   So was the U.K."

Eddie George, Bank of England, Cited in Reg Howe v. BIS, JPM et al.

Why do they do this?  It has little to do with the public good, and nothing at all to do with patriotism, or justice.

It's all about the self-interest of insiders, and their economic and political power.

It's all about the Benjamins, whether in peace and prosperity, or in conflict and hardship.

When we think that they can sink no lower, they surprise us, with their savage and senseless cruelty.

They serve the darkness, and themselves.   And by the same measure they shall be served.

And so we begin the culmination of Holy Week, and all of the implications of the Incarnation.

Remember to feed the least of His creatures, the birds and animals.  And bring comfort and fellowship to the hearts of those you meet, with a kind word and a smile.

Each of us has our own burdens and troubles to carry.  And it is our duty and joy to lessen the troubles of others, out of gratitude for His love of the unworthy, His love of us.

"Watch therefore and pray always, that you may escape all these things that will come to pass, and be among those standing with the Son of Man.”

Luke 21:36

Remembering you and your families, and most importantly your souls.

Because that is what our struggle is all about.

Have a pleasant weekend.
