Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - A Shelter in the Storm

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have relighted the flame within us."

Albert Schweitzer

"The sinner, having forsaken the service of his God, falls under the dominance of Satan, and becomes the slave of his lowest passions, which are signified by the swine which the prodigal was forced to feed. But the more he obeys his passions, the more dissatisfied he becomes. No pleasure of the senses can give him happiness, and he feels an emptiness and spiritual hunger in his heart which he is powerless to satisfy. He knows no rest; he only knows that he is miserable, and hateful to himself...

Though the sinner has offended Him so grievously and so often, yet He does not reproach him, but forgives him everything, and restores him to his former rights and dignity of sonship.  God alone can love in this way, and to us this sort of love is inconceivable.  Our Lord portrays this narrow-mindedness of ours in the conclusion of the parable.

The elder son cannot understand his father’s joy; he murmurs at it, and refuses to take part in it; and even professes to believe that his father prefers the returned prodigal to himself, the faithful, obedient and industrious son.  By this behaviour of the elder son our Lord signifies the jealousy of the Pharisees, who considered themselves to be just, and murmured at the deep interest which Jesus took in sinners."

Friedrich Justus Knecht, The Prodigal Son

‘Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?’ And the expert in the law replied, ‘The one who showed mercy to him.’

And Jesus said, ‘Go and do likewise.’"

Luke 10:36-37

We are all lost without the help of the Lord.

Stocks slumped hard today, and a rally attempt into the close popped and flopped.

Is this the expected correction?   Maybe, it's too soon to tell.

Stocks need to break quite a bit lower before we would start populating a CrashTrak model.

But as I have often said, we are one event, one crisis of sufficient magnitude away of a collapse in this bubbly market of mispriced risk.

Gold and silver gold off a bit.

Bitcoin has fallen to the bottom of its trading range.  A further decline could trigger some cascade selling as leverage starts to bite.

VIX climbed quite a bit.

Some of this may be due to the revelations that Donnie apparently was hiding the truth about his involvement in the Epstein affair, and several key figures of his cabinet are deeply compromised.

Or it could be the ongoing provocations and war crimes in Latin America that seem to be a conflict of opportunity for oil and distraction.

Or the boiling conflicts in the Mideast, which the US and UK enable.

Or the proxy war in Ukraine.

Quite mess.

But it is not just a problem in the US.  As Matt Hoh observes, Europe Is at War With Itself.

This is no isolated problem.  It is an infection of almost diabolical obsession throughout the West.

We are all lost without the help of the Lord indeed.

But the good news literally is that this help, this beacon of light in the storm, is always there for us.

We just have to let go of our pride and corrupt emotions and ambitions and choose to come home.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Revelations: Approaching Peak Lawlessness

"You made this monster, and as long as things were going well you gave him whatever he wanted.  You turned Germany over to this arch-criminal, you swore allegiance to him by every incredible oath he chose to put before you.”

Friedrich Reck-Malleczewen, Diary of a Man in Despair, 1947

"So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, it is a sin."

James 4:17

"I’m not against business, or profits, or becoming wealthy.  I have no problem with people becoming billionaires—if they got there by winning a fair race, if their accomplishments merit it, if they pay their fair share of taxes, and if they don’t corrupt their society.  But that’s not how most of the people mentioned in this book became wealthy.  Most of them became wealthy by being well connected and crooked.  And they are creating a society in which they can commit hugely damaging economic crimes with impunity, and in which only children of the wealthy have the opportunity to become successful. That’s what I have a problem with."

Charles Ferguson, Predator Nation, 2012

"If you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not act proudly and tell lies against the truth. This 'wisdom' does not come down from above but is worldly, unspiritual, and demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is lawlessness and every kind of evil."

James 3:14-16

"If there are damned souls in Hell, it is because men blind themselves.”

E.A. Bucchianeri, Faust: My Soul Be Damned for the World, 2010

The big news in the markets is the remarkable rebound of gold and silver from the opportunistic decline managed by the Banks in the latter part of October.

Silver in particular is in a very strong bull market.

What do you think that global market participants are telling us with this resilient strength in the price of gold and silver?

The Dollar is muddling along.

VIX is sleepwalking along the rim of a volcano.

Bitcoin is still in harvesting mode, with the big market players shoving the price back and forth in a fairly well-defined trading range.

Hang on.  It's going to be a rough ride.

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing which they conceal that will not be revealed, or hidden, that will not be made known. What is spoken in the dark will be heard in the light; what is whispered in the ear will be shouted from the rooftops." Matthew 10:26-27

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Children of the Calf

“Possibly the most debilitating deception of all is to create a god of my own making, fool myself into believing that this limp god of mine is the true God, and then construct the entirety of my life on this flamboyantly fictional character.  Possibly the most devastating realization of all is when the real God shows up, and in the showing up all of this come crashing down.”

Craig D. Lounsbrough, Come As a Child, December 2017

"These are frightened hypocrites, who protest their outrage, and then hurriedly hide what they have done."

Victor Hugo, Les Misérables, 1862

"The German people slumber on in their dull, stupid sleep and encourage these fascist criminals; they give them the opportunity to carry on their destruction; and of course they do so. Is this a sign that the Germans are brutalized in their simplest human feelings, that no chord within them cries out at the sight of such deeds, that they have sunk into a fatal lack of conscience from which they will never, never awake?"

The White Rose, Second Leaflet, Munich 1942

"Be glad as children, as the birds of heaven. And do not let the sins of men confound you in your doings. Do not fear that they will wear away your work and hinder its being accomplished.  Do not say, 'Sin is mighty, wickedness is mighty, evil environment is mighty, and we are lonely and helpless, and evil environment is wearing us away and hindering our good work from being done.'  Of the pride of Satan what I think is this: it is hard for us on earth to comprehend it, and therefore it is easy to fall into error and to share in it, even imagining that we are doing something grand and fine."

Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov, pages 407-8, 1880

"The souls of the righteous are in the hands of God,
and no torment shall ever touch them.
They seem, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;
and their passing is thought an affliction
and their going forth from us, devastation.
But they are content in the presence of God."

Wisdom 3:1-3

When the time comes those who call themselves religious and  'worship' in the form of self-fashioned false gods of personal power are going to be left yammering, gape-mouthed as their cults are shown in their true ugliness, and crumble from their hands into dust.

Stocks were wobbly overnight, but managed to recover much of their losses into the close.

The economic data this morning in the form of the ADP jobs creation number was a pretty grim negative.

Gold and silver were being pushed lower in the late morning after an early rally, but then managed to come back for solid gains at the close.

Gold and silver are definitely telling us something, probably some unpleasant truth that the elite wish for us to ignore.

The VIX drifted lower yet again down to its 50 DMA.

These jokers may paint the tape in the most heavy-handed manner, but the false gods of their cult isn't going to collapse pretty badly in the face of reality.

It would be a shame if we allow them to avoid the consequences of their bad actions, and even worse, to walk away with fat profits from their lawlessness again.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - The Desperate Loneliness of Hell

"Your adversary, the devil, prowls the earth like a roaring lion, seeking those whom he may devour. Resist, and stand firmly in the faith, and know that your fellow believers throughout the world are also standing against the same temptations."

1 Peter 5:8-9

"Satan has been in the Heaven of Heavens and in the abyss of Hell, and surveyed all that lies between them, and in that whole immensity has found only one thing that interests Satan. Satan’s monomaniac concern with himself and his supposed rights and wrongs is a necessity of the Satanic predicament.

Certainly, he has no choice. He has chosen to have no choice. He has wished to ‘be himself’, and to be in himself and for himself, and his wish has been granted. The Hell he carries with him is, in one sense, a Hell of infinite boredom. To admire Satan, then, is to give one’s vote not only for a world of misery, but also for a world of lies and propaganda, of wishful thinking, of incessant autobiography."

C. S. Lewis, A Preface to Paradise Lost, 1942

“If we go as far as we can into the darkness, regardless of the consequences, I believe a midnight truth will free us from our bondage to violence and bring us to the light of peace.”

James W. Douglass, JFK and the Unspeakable, 2008

“What we would like to do is change the world— make it a little simpler for people to feed, clothe, and shelter themselves as God intended them to do. And, by fighting for better conditions, by crying out unceasingly for the rights of the workers, the poor, of the destitute— the rights of the worthy and the unworthy poor, in other words— we can, to a certain extent, change the world; we can work for the oasis, the little cell of joy and peace in a harried world. We can throw our pebble in the pond and be confident that its ever widening circle will reach around the world."

Dorothy Day, The Long Loneliness, 1952

"And Peter understood that neither Nero, nor all his legions, could overcome the living truth — that they could not overwhelm it with tears or blood, and that now its victory was beginning.  He understood as well why the Lord had turned him back on the road.  That city of pride, of crime, of wickedness, and of a lust for power, was beginning to be His."

Henryk Sienkiewicz, Quo Vadis, 1896

Why does 'power' so often turn to self-destruction and cynical brutality?

I think it is because the soul incapable of loving and being loved becomes addicted to feeling - something.

It is like there is a great hole in their being that torments them.  And so they try to fill it with things, and powerful emotions like hate and hanger, and the misery of other people.   Anything.

The 'shutdown' was resolved in the Senate last night, according to the media.

Now this amended bill must be returned to the House, which must come back into session to deliberate it.

And if this happens, then Speaker Johnson would hopefully be under quite a bit of pressure to swear in the new member of the House, who has vowed to support the release of the 'Epstein files.'

We all now that, for whatever mysterious reason, the Trump administration had a remarkable change of mind in the release of the files, which they had whinged about for years when they were out of power.

And having pledged to release them, AG Bondi and her cohorts suddenly decided they were irrelevant, we didn't have to see them, and Trump himself dismissed them as a hoax, fake news, and unimportant.

Do you need to buy a vowel?

So stocks rallied, bubbling back up.

Gold and silver just rocketed higher, having been pressed down into the phantom Non-Farm Payrolls report last week.

You see, it's not really the report that drives prices.  Its the unregulated power of the moneyed interests of Wall Street and their Banks.

There is going to be a significant amount of fraud and ugliness that may some day may tumble out into view.   Both of the corporate parties will not wish this to happen.  For every Trump there is a Clinton, so to speak.

But the current system is failing, and the more it abuses the public, the more the resistance to this dirty, rotten system will build.

In his recollections, Bill Moyers said that one night in a Tennessee hotel Lyndon Johnson described the dynamics of Southern politics like this:

“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket.  Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.”

And so the band plays on.

Have a pleasant evening.
