Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Hi Yo Silver, Away! - Silver Takes the 17 Handle

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”

Leo Tolstoy

"If you pray and love, that is where happiness lies."

John Vianney

Silver put on its high beta afterburners this week, and took out and held the 17 handle. Wow.

Gold is making an attempt to break out as well. It needs to take out 1770, and then it too may run with an eye towards the all time highs.

Stocks managed to take back their losses in the quiet afternoon trading, recovering from the shockingly bad retail sales numbers this morning.

It was in the low 80s here today with a decent breeze, the perfect time to do that much-needed touch up painting on the house.

The tree pollen is just brutal out there. It is powdering the cars with green.

Need little, want less, love more. For those who abide in love abide in God, and God in them.

And that is what really matters.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precioius Metals Charts - Lies, Dark Powers, and Redemption

“Before mass leaders seize the power to fit reality to their lies, their propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts as such, for in their opinion fact depends entirely on the power of the man who can fabricate it.”

Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism

"Seneca had made the bargain that many good men have made when agreeing to aid bad regimes.  On the one hand, their presence strengthens the regime and helps it endure.  But their moral influence may also improve the regime's behavior or save the lives of its enemies.  For many, this has been a bargain worth making, even if it has cost them—as it may have cost Seneca—their immortal soul. The Rome he has been trained to serve, the Rome of Augustus and Germanicus, was gone.   In its place stood Neropolis, ruled by a megalomaniac brat.”

James Romm, Dying Every Day: Seneca at the Court of Nero

“Fascists rejected reason in the name of will, denying objective truth in favor of a glorious myth articulated by leaders who claimed to give voice to the people. A nationalist is not at all the same thing as a patriot.  A nationalist encourages us to be our worst, and then tells us that we are the best."

Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny

Stocks rebounded from their lows.

Gold and silver moved higher.

The dollar finished nearly unchanged.

Stock option expiration tomorrow.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - My Will Be Done

"Liars often set their own traps."

Aesop

“There are only two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’”

C. S. Lewis

It was a risk off day today, as the Dollar and gold gained, while stocks swooned again.

Although the major stock indices managed to finish off the lows with a little kick higher in the afternoon.

There will be a stock market option expiration on Friday.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Fauci Cautions, Stocks Tumble - Option Expiration on Friday

"A narcissist paints a picture of themselves as being the victim or innocent in all aspects. They will be offended by the truth. But what is done in the dark will come to light.”

Karla Grimes

"It is not possible to found a lasting power upon injustice, perjury, and treachery. These may, perhaps, succeed at first, and limp along on hope for awhile with a flourishing appearance. But time betrays their weakness, and they eventually fall into ruin of their own designs."

Demosthenes

"Be not deceived, for God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, so shall he reap."

Galatians 6:7

"A true opium of the people is the belief in nothingness after death, the huge solace, the huge comfort of thinking that for our betrayals, our greed, our cowardice, our murders, that we are not going to be judged.”

Czeslaw Milosz, The Discreet Charm of Nihilism

As I noted yesterday, the stock markets are appearing to be more like ponzi schemes than bubbles in this case.

The difference is the sheer narrowness of the impetus higher, and the increasingly cynical nature of it.

And so on some words of caution today, stocks tumbled— hard.

Gold managed to hold on to some gains while the Dollar lost ground.

There will be a stock market option expiration on Friday.

We might see the hysteria and misdirection continue to intensify.

What is hidden will be revealed.

The mills of God grind slowly, but exceedingly fine.

So many scoundrels, with fewer and fewer dark corners in which to hide.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Stocks Beyond Bubble, a Ponzi Scheme - Option Expiration on Friday

“There's a reason narcissists don't learn from mistakes and that's because they never get past the first step which is admitting that they made one. It's always an assistant's fault, an adviser's fault, a lawyer's fault. Ask them to account for a mistake any other way and they'll say, 'what mistake?”

Jeffrey Kluger

"The narcissist looks down on everyone and exploits people all of his life. For many narcissists life is all about money and power.  Getting more and giving less is his motto."

Linda Martinez-Lewi

Stocks, particularly big cap tech, are beyond a bubble now.

Given the narrow action and volumes, and the small number of players driving it, it is more like a ponzi scheme than a bubble.

The Dollar was stronger, and gold and silver were weaker.

There will be a stock market option expiration on Friday.

How will God judge us for our willful arrogance and shameless embrace of injustice?

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Risk On

"Therefore, rejoice, you heavens,
and you who dwell in them.
But what sorrows will come to you, the worldly,
for the Devil has come among you in great fury,
because he knows he has but a short time.”

Revelation 12:12

"A good person produces good from the treasury of a good heart,  and an evil person produces evil from the treasury of an evil heart.  Amen I say to you, on the day of judgement you will give an account for every idle word that you have spoken.  By your words you will be either acquitted or condemned.”

Matthew 12:35-37

Stocks were in rally mode today, off of an expected but still shocking Non-Farm Payrolls report.

The only thing that matters is the hot money that in flowing in wide rivers to Wall Street, and those who feed off this dirty and corrupt system.

Silver has benefited from this on its 'industrial side.'  And to a lesser extent as a deeply oversold precious metal.

There will be a stock option expiration next week.   The calendar is included below.

The risks are greatly underestimated in financial instruments, and for the most part completely ignored in those things that are the most important.

Have a pleasant weekend.
