Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Precious Metal Rockets and Blow Off Tops in Tech

"We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us.

The tender Mercy of God has given us one another."

Catherine McAuley

"Even in a time of elephantine vanity and greed, one never has to look far to see the campfires of gentle people. Lacking any other purpose in life, it would be good enough to live for their sake."

Garrison Keillor

Stocks were a bit off today with the FOMC announcement of the status quo, although the NDX continued to rocket higher in a late stage new era tech boom.

It is setting up for a very nice blow off top. Wait for it.

Gold and silver took off higher today, continuing to gain back from the phony smackdown engineered by the bullion banks around the non-farm payrolls report.

June is a big month for the precious metal futures, and proved a tempting target for the wiseguys to run the stops and pull off a wash and rinse.

Well, here we are again. Looking at key overhead resistance in gold and silver.

The weather here has been hot, in the low 90's today.

I cut up a fallen tree for a neighbor and stocked some more firewood away for next winter.

The young man is a handy wood-splitter.

And after cleaning up and having a nice late lunch, the air conditioning felt so good that Dolly and I celebrated with a solid nap.

If a package had not arrived, with a doorbell setting off the Dolly alarm, we might still be sleeping even now.

There is no rest so profoundly satisfying as that given to us, having done a good thing for another.

Such are His loving kindness, and tender mercies.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - NDX 10,000 - A Dark Day For America

Martin Gugino, Pacifist Protester, Catholic Worker Movement
"What does the modern world know of love, with its light touching of the surface of love. It has never reached down into the depths, to the misery and pain and glory of love which endures to death and beyond it. We have not yet begun to learn about love.  Now is the time to begin, to start afresh, to use this divine weapon.

What we would like to do is change the world–make it a little simpler for people to feed, clothe and shelter themselves as God intended them to do.  And to a certain extent, by fighting for better conditions, by crying out unceasingly for the rights of the workers, of the poor, of the destitute–the rights of the worthy and the unworthy poor in other words, we can to a certain extent change the world; we can work for the oasis, the little cell of joy and peace in a harried world.

We can throw our pebble in the pond and be confident that its ever widening circle will reach around the world."

Dorothy Day, Catholic Worker, June 1946

"The government is the potent omnipresent teacher. For good or ill it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

Louis D. Brandeis

“Hate obscures all distinctions.”

C. S. Lewis

Intraday the NDX futures hit a new all time high of 10,000. Huzzah

The SP 500 is still lagging behind.

Tech is the crème de la bubble.

Gold managed to continue to add to its rebound, with the Dollar continuing to give up ground.

Silver gave up a bit of its rebound from yesterday.

Trumpolini smeared the 75 year Martin Gugino, who was tossed to the ground by police and injured.    He falsely claimed that the pacifist protestor was an Antifa agitator, and speculated that he may have been critically injured in order to set the police up.

Trump has a disordered mind and is a pathological liar.  But what about the rest of us?

Have we lost all decency, common sense, and regard for the truth?

Whom do we serve?

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - A Sickness Unto Death

"The government is the potent omnipresent teacher. For good or ill it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

Louis D. Brandeis

"People who know nothing of God and whose lives are centered on themselves, imagine that they can only find themselves by asserting their own desires and ambitions and appetites in a struggle with the rest of the world. They try to become real by imposing themselves on other people, by appropriating for themselves some share of the limited supply of created goods and thus emphasizing the difference between themselves and the other men who have less than they, or nothing at all."

Thomas Merton

"In the Incarnation the whole human race recovers the dignity of the image of God. Thereafter, any attack, even on the least of men, is an attack on Christ, who took on the form of man, and in his own Person restored the image of God in all. Through our relationship with the Incarnation, we recover our true humanity, and at the same time are delivered from that perverse individualism which is the consequence of sin, and recover our solidarity with all mankind."

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“The greatest hazard of all, losing one’s self, can occur very quietly in the world, as if it were nothing at all. No other loss can occur so quietly; any other loss - an arm, a leg, five dollars, a wife, etc. - is sure to be noticed.”

Søren Kierkegaard, The Sickness Unto Death

“Now we are witnessing a transformation: a true opium of the people is the belief in nothingness after death, the huge solace, the huge comfort of thinking that for our betrayals, our greed, our cowardice, our murders, that we are not going to be judged.”

Czeslaw Milosz, The Discreet Charm of Nihilism

The looting of the Treasury for the benefit of a few continues, while the public remains distracted and repressed.

The madness serves none but itself.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Sowing the Wind

"A narcissist will deliberately damage other people in pursuit of their own selfish desires, but may regret and will in some circumstances show remorse for doing so, while a malignant narcissist will harm others and enjoy doing so, showing little empathy or regret for the damage they have caused.”

John D. Garner

“Power not only corrupts but also magnifies existing psychopathologies, even as it creates new ones.  Fostered by the flattery of underlings and the chants of crowds, a political leader’s grandiosity may morph into grotesque delusions of grandeur. Sociopathic traits may be amplified as the leader discovers that he can violate the norms of civil society and even commit crimes with impunity.  And the leader who rules through fear, lies, and betrayal may become increasingly isolated and paranoid, as the loyalty of even his closest confidants must forever be suspect.”

Bandy X Lee

The Non-Farm Payrolls report was a joke.

It must have been because the sock puppets and spokesmodels on bubblevision were chuckling about it all day.

The NDX set a new high, and the foundation for the next blow off top.

The SP also moved higher, but is lagging the big cap tech.

Gold and silver were just hammered. They are clearing on the longs in the June futures contracts for gold and silver.

JPM was just given a few million dollar fine (more like a tip than a wristslap) for rigging the Mexican bond market.

So why not just go with the story of the miracle recovery, and pump stocks and hammer the metals?

This is a very effective way to transfer huge amounts of public money from the Fed to the one percent, and then sticking the public with the check.

Draining the swamp. Yeah.

Wait for it. The setup is here but perhaps not fully ripe.

And then we will see things fall apart. Especially if it looks like the Democrats will take the November elections.

Have a great weekend.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - Banquet of Consequences - Bubbles, Kleptocracy, and this Satanic Mill

“We have always known that heedless self interest was bad morals, we now know that it is bad economics.

The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself.  That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.

We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace—business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.

They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt

"To allow the market mechanism to be sole director of the fate of human beings and their natural environment, indeed, even of the amount and use of purchasing power, would result in the demolition of society.

For the alleged commodity "labor power" cannot be shoved about, used indiscriminately, or even left unused, without affecting also the human individual who happens to be the bearer of this peculiar commodity. In disposing of a man's labor power the system would, incidentally, dispose of the physical, psychological, and moral entity "man" attached to that tag.

Robbed of the protective covering of cultural institutions, human beings would perish from the effects of social exposure; they would die as the victims of acute social dislocation through vice, perversion, crime, and starvation."

Karl Polanyi, The Great Transformation, 1944

"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger?  By what means shall we fortify against it?  Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow?  Never!  All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected?  I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us.  It cannot come from abroad.  If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.  As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."

Abraham Lincoln, Lyceum Address, 27 January 1838

In the we-don't-need-no-stinkin'-oversight, so inspector generals department: Treasury Official's Family Business Sees a Bailout Bonanza.

And I suspect that this is the tip of the iceberg.

These jokers aren't draining the swamp. They are private-labeling it.

Perhaps I am too sensitive, and I would certainly not want to commit the grave offense of equivalency, but Obama's sudden fondness for protesters seems a bit hollow, given his history with whistle-blowers acting out of conscience, and the harsh repression of the Occupy Wall Street protests.

Remember that?

Freedom of speech, and personal freedom in general, have been under a steady assault by the growing Imperial Presidency for quite some time. Trump is just its clumsy and particularly malignant manifestation.

Speaking of extremes, stocks backed up a bit today, and the Dollar continued its slump.

Stocks PE is at the highest levels since the dot-com bubble.

Why do we keep having all these financial bubbles? Hint: who benefits?

Gold and silver tried to rally after the big smackdown yesterday.

There will be a Non-Farm Payrolls Report tomorrow.

Have a pleasant evening.

Stocks and Precious Metals Charts - History Lessons - The Worst Is Yet to Come

"Those who think our unhinged president’s recent mania about a murder two decades ago that never happened represents his moral nadir have missed the lesson of his life: There is no such thing as rock bottom. So, assume that the worst is yet to come."

George F. Will, June 1 2020

"The government is the potent omnipresent teacher. For good or ill it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

Louis D. Brandeis

"I see. So they talk, pray, march, plead, petition and what do they get?  Cossacks, prison, flogging, police, spies, and now, after today, they will be shot.  Is this God's will?  Are these His methods?  Make war on your own people?  How long do you think they're going to stand there and let you shoot them? YOU ask ME who's responsible? YOU ask?"

Count Witte to Tsar Nicholas II

“Hate obscures all distinctions.”

C. S. Lewis

Stocks were on a tear today. The Nasdaq is reaching for its previous highs, and a new blow off top.

Gold and silver were hit very hard, in the general pattern of in the markets ahead of a Non-Farm Payrolls report.

Gold held at the support level of its trading channel. Let's see what happens for the rest of the week.

The house accounts of the major players are taking gold contracts.

The real Comex physical market in Hong Kong is very low on inventory.

The New York inventory is a joke.

Where is the rule of law here? Where are those vocal defenders of the Constitution?

And it is not yet even July. But things are proceeding as one might expect.

Don't join in. Remember whom it is that you serve, and how.

The madness serves none but itself.

Have a pleasant evening.
