Gold Daily and Silver Weekly Charts - Hit the Miners, Reindeer Games

Gold and silver were hit a bit today, with the miners taking quite the calculated plunge in the afternoon.

It is all antics and reindeer games. Watch your stops and leverage.

Great events are taking place.  Many are confused about what is happening.  Many believe that they are in control of things that they barely understand.

Things will continue to progress, with something almost like an inevitability.  As for us, we keep our heads down, and our minds on the first things, those things we can affect, and that happily matter the most.

Have a pleasant evening.

SP 500 and NDX Futures Daily Charts - Dow 18,000, Tech Divergent

The US GDP for Q3 was revised upwards to 5% based on higher than expected spending on healthcare.

Stocks had the usual upward bias, with the Dow being pushed towards a record close, with the 18,000 hats breaking out on the NYSE.

Techs were laggards most of the day.

Stock action seems heavy and sluggish, after this big run higher off the plunger earlier in the month.

Have a pleasant evening.

Gold Daily and Silver Weekly Charts - Tidings of Great Joy

Gold and silver took an obvious and clumsy hit during the New York Trading hours.

I added a little to standing positions towards the end of the day.  I am not overly concerned about the Banks' antics.  I am on a different timeframe than they seem to be.

For the short term, I am happy that I am allowed to spend another Christmas with Mary and my son Christopher.

And even our little Shih Tzu dog, who is almost as shameless and greedy as a Wall Street banker, in pursuit of treats.

Nothing is more precious, there is no greater gift from God that I can even imagine.

When you have nothing good to say about the foolishness and ravings of 'very important and powerful people', perhaps it is better to say nothing at all.   They too shall pass, and at best be nothing.  They are their own undoing.

Have a pleasant evening.

SP 500 and NDX Futures Daily Charts - Quiet Day with Upward Bias

No surprises here today, a quiet day of trading with an upward bias.  I suspect most of the adults have already taken off for the holidays, leaving juniors in charge with some strict instructions not to mess things up.

The economic news came in weakly, but these things do not matter so much when bonuses are being shaped.

The level of discussion and subject matter in the Americans news media is generally shameful, and embarrassing.

I would expect this week to walk quietly into Christmas holiday. Something might happen, but otherwise we are seeing the usual theft and lies in unworthy commemoration of a great event.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Von Guten Mächten - By Gracious Powers

Von Guten Mächten, By Gracious Powers, is a prayer written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer in December 1944, shortly before his execution by the SS on 9 April 1945.

His powerful words of faith were put to music, and became a hymn that is still sung in Germany today.

As for his executioners and their legacy, ubi sunt, where are they now?

By gracious powers so wonderfully sheltered,
and confidently waiting come what may,
we know that God is with us night and morning,
and never fails to greet us each new day.

And when this cup you give is filled to brimming
with bitter suffering, hard to understand,
we take it thankfully and without trembling
out of so good and so beloved a hand.

Yet when again in this same world you give us
the joy we had, the brightness of your sun,
we shall remember all the days we lived through
and our whole life shall then be yours alone.
